Happy Valentine's Day!

When I was growing up, and after I had just gotten married, I thought that holidays should be celebrated on the actual day of the holiday. I still think that a holiday should be ackowledged in some fashion on the actual day, but I have become more willing to celebrate when there is time, health, and inclination for a celebration. Thus, though it is not February 14th -- today is Valentine's Day for Der and me. Illness prevented us on two other scheduled days, but today we are well and the sun is shining. So, best wishes to all for a happy, romantic day.

Not to mention that roses are a lot cheaper if Der buys them today. Have a romantic day.

Are you going to be attending any ballroom dance classes together tonight? That would be very romantic. Good for you for celebrating!

Okay, so our "romance" consists of choosing a book to buy (luxury!), eating at a restaraunt that isn't Wendy's or McDonald's, and later, watching a movie with the kids. I got a rose plant before Valentine's day which I've almost managed to kill (never give me live plants), and I'll have to ballroom dance with Der in my dreams:)

Just have Derek watch Dancing With the Stars. Then he'll know that even macho football players and race-car drivers can dance and be manly men too.

sounds good - I think it's about time we celebrated Valentines' Day too... I never did get to go out to eat :)
