Traditional Onion Days Parade

Every year we attend one parade.  The Onion Days Parade on Main Street here in town.  We attend with all of the local family who aren't marching in the parade.  Dan really hated it for a while, but a year or two ago he came up with the perfect solution.  He brings a chair, faces it away from the parade, puts ear plugs in, reads the pile of books he brought, drinks from the pre-frozen and slightly thawed drinks he brought, and has a snack he packs for himself.  Now he says the parades pass much more quickly!

Some of the other kids grab the candy that is thrown while adults collect flyers or talk.  Eventually some of us end up standing in the shade of a nearby tree to cool down.  This year Derek's Mom came to get me so that I could watch Jake run up into the tree.  He did it a few times, but I never could get the whole thing on video.  I just have a picture of him before he gets up there!

This is the back of cousin Ethan and the Hang-Time float.  I took a picture because of the Pandas
climbing the climbing wall on the float.  Connor and Dan love Pandas.
