"Into the woods, into the woods, and home before dark" (from "Into the Woods" -- that play we have on video) We went hiking again -- through the water again -- and we thought it was beautiful and fun again. The company was great. This time instead of hearing "I'll NEVER go on that hike again" we heard "I Love this hike! I want to go on it every day!" Different hikers, different perspectives.
Today we revived a tradition from many years past with my sister's family and got ourselves out of bed extremely early to view the balloons.
They are big, and fun, and amazing.
And getting up early is exhausting.
We're semi awake now and heading off again to a family event. This summer I have NOT been bored.

okay - for the balloons it might be worth a little lost sleep! What a fun tradition... I would steal it except that I don't think there's anyplace around here to see more than the early morning joggers :(
Those are neat balloons. I especially like those highly understated words at the end. "This summer I have NOT been bored" :)
I thought about going to the balloons for about .15 seconds! Then I decided that would make way TOO long for a day. But I applaud all that go. Who gets to ride in them though?
Wow!! Where do they have those balloons? That looks like a lot of fun!
No, you have definitely not been bored. Your house looks great though and it keeps you out of trouble, right?
Those will be some great family memories.
I like the photo of the drooping heads. That would be me at 5:30 am too.
Nice new side pix. I'm glad Jake's face is looking better. I couldn't even really look at him yesterday without wincing.
Why must the balloons take off so early? I would be more than game if they launched at around 9 am. It just goes against every bone in my body to force a kid awake. (I know, I know...just wait until I have teenagers....)
I just wish I could enjoy waking up teenagers. Sigh. The balloons can't go up if it's too hot -- thus the unreasonable hour.
Oh so fun to catch up with your family! Sounds like you've had a VERY eventful couple of weeks... let's go get ice cream while Trisa is working...
